<image:title>Assessment - Psychoeducational Assessments</image:title>
<image:caption>BTB specializes in comprehensive psychoeducational assessments tailored to create a holistic understanding and individualized plan for your child. Assessments at BTB are comprehensive and intentionally created to identify the needs of your school age child or teen without putting them through unnecessary or lengthy administrations. Psychoeducational evaluations seek to assess a student’s cognitive skills and academic achievement, as well as socio-emotional and behavioral functioning to determine their learning style, identify barriers to school success, and to develop a personalized educational/treatment plan. Many families utilize our assessments, in collaboration with their child’s school, to determine appropriateness or eligibility for special education services, such as an Individualized Education Program (IEP) or a 504 plan. We also tailor reports, planning, and advocacy for private or charter school learning or behavior support plans. Testing at BTB involves an intake process, on-site testing, electronic rating forms, behavioral observations (as needed), comprehensive report with individually tailored treatment/educational plans, and a feedback session. Most importantly, BTB also offers developmentally appropriate feedback sessions for your child to learn about their strengths, find language to advocate for their needs, and to build self-esteem. Need additional support after the evaluation during your child’s IEP meetings? We can help. The initial intake and subsequent feedback session are conducted from the convenience of your home via our secure telehealth platform. For your ease, parent and teacher rating forms are also completed electronically from home or school and the testing itself is completed on-site in a single day to reduce the amount of time your child is removed from school.</image:caption>

<image:title>Assessment - Neurodevelopmental Assessments</image:title>
<image:caption>BTB also specializes in more targeted diagnostic assessment. Do you or your pediatrician have concerns about your child’s development, behavior, or functioning? BTB specializes in diagnostic assessments for Neurodevelopmental Disorders, such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disabilities, and Learning Disorders. Diagnostic assessments from a clinical psychologist utilize reliable and valid tools to determine crucial diagnostic information that grants your child access to more targeted supports. By creating an individualized map and developmental profile of your child’s strengths and areas in need of support, we are then able to provide a tailored plan that promotes your child’s development and growth, as well as necessary referrals if needed (i.e., Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, ABA services, Physical Therapy).</image:caption>

<image:title>Parent Training - Behavioral Parent Training</image:title>
<image:caption>BTB specializes in positive Behavioral Parent Training (sometimes called Parent Management Training or Behavior Therapy), utilizing behavior analysis principles and components of evidence-based family therapy treatments. Better yet, we create a tailored program based on your parenting style, strengths, and lifestyle that helps you build problem solving skills to respond to your child’s developing needs. Parent training differs from family therapy services in that it’s for families looking for a more targeted, concrete, and direct skill-based experience to better understand and manage challenging or disruptive behavior. Behavioral Parent Training is a series of 50-minute appointments where each session gradually teaches you the parent skills that work and are based in research. Why is this important? Are you stuck in a cycle of never-ending “no’s,” yelling, or guilt? Are you feeling frustrated and reactive? Positive Behavioral Parent Training at BTB not only normalizes the struggle, but helps you feel better equipped with tools to identify the triggers, understand what your child is really communicating, and know the tools to utilize during frustrated moments to reduce the reactive parenting. By reducing reactive parenting and improving responsive parenting, you will have the skills to confidently implement strategies that will help build your child’s coping skills, self-esteem, increase more adaptive behaviors, and improve the parent/child relationship.</image:caption>

<image:title>Parent Training - Parent Booster Sessions</image:title>
<image:caption>You’ve completed the Behavioral Parent Training sessions and feel confident in utilizing skills for a range of your child’s behaviors in all types of contexts. So now what? While we believe you will leave feeling equipped and confident in navigating your child’s behavior, life (or your child) may throw you a wrench from time to time. You might feel rusty or need a quick problem solving session with the expert. BTB offers parent booster sessions where parents can revisit strategies or learn creative new ways to adjust previously successful strategies to their child’s developmental needs. Similar to our consultation services, parent booster sessions provide an opportunity for parents to benefit from a single session without long-term commitment to the therapy process. Parent booster sessions are 50-minute appointments and appropriate for parents who have already completed Parent Behavioral Training. Need a few tips and tricks?</image:caption>

<image:title>Individual and Family Therapy - Family Therapy</image:title>
<image:caption>At BTB, we believe that everyone benefits from learning to do something differently. We are all human, and parenting is hard. We also recognize that all families are unique. We specialize in family therapy services for those seeking support in improving family communication or parent/child interactions, navigating challenging circumstances, or adjusting to life changes (e.g., divorce, co-parenting, loss). Changing the behavior of one member of the family impacts how the family functions as a whole and relates to one another. Our goal in working together is to identify your family’s unique strengths and better understand the patterns of functioning that are keeping you stuck or thriving. Consistency and effective communication is also key. Let us also provide a neutral space for you to develop co-parenting plans, especially if parenting styles differ. Dr. Bobal also specializes in family therapy services for children, teens, and families adjusting to complex medical diagnoses (e.g., Diabetes, siblings or children with special needs, chronic illness). Targeted support is offered for those exhibiting concerns with adherence to treatment, treatment related anxiety, as well as families looking to find ways to support their child’s developmentally appropriate independence with care.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Not ready or needing to invest in several sessions? BTB offers brief consultation or problem solving sessions in the form of 50-minute consultation appointments. Consultation appointments are typically utilized for parents or providers who have targeted questions or concerns that can be sufficiently addressed within a single appointment. Common concerns addressed during consultation with a psychologist or educational specialist may be strategies for a general behavioral concern, accommodations for testing (standardized testing, SAT and ACT), questions about typical child development, collaboration with other providers, or questions about your child’s upcoming IEP meeting. While many caregivers or providers benefit from a single consultation, others may choose to schedule subsequent consultative appointments at BTB.</image:caption>

<image:title>Consultation & Advocacy - School Advocacy IEP or 504 Plan Services</image:title>
<image:caption>In addition to her clinical training, Dr. Bobal is also a Nationally Certified School Psychologist. BTB offers advocate services at school meetings or expert consultations that help you plan for meetings that determine supports for your child. The ultimate goal of BTB is to empower and educate families as to their rights throughout the education process. Individualized Education Programs (IEP) or 504 plans are established to foster the most appropriate school supports, accommodations, or environments for your school-aged child. Services across districts and options for support within schools are not always clear or known. What is deemed “best,” may not always be agreed upon or clear by all of the individuals creating the support plans. While at BTB we believe that parents bring the expertise about their child, we promote, as much as possible, a collaborative approach with your child’s teachers, schools, districts, and other systems of care. With that being said, our support and allegiance is with you and your child to ensure that you serve as a key and informed stakeholder during the eligibility process.</image:caption>

<image:title>Screening - Developmental Screenings</image:title>
<image:caption>Developmental Screenings consist of a 50-minute appointment where a psychologist conducts a brief screen of your child for developmental, social, emotional, language, and/or behavioral concerns. Screenings take the place of an initial intake and are preferable to parent-only consultation appointments for parents who are looking to determine whether their child is within expected parameters for development. A screening does not take the place of a diagnostic assessment as it does not provide sufficient opportunity for diagnostic conclusions to be made. Rather, screenings lead to specific, concrete recommendations for developmental activities and/or referrals for additional services if needed. Whether your child may benefit from recommended parent-guided activities in the home or may require more intensive early intervention supports with a specialist, you will leave the screening session with an immediate actionable plan to improve your child’s development. Screenings can also determine whether or not further, more comprehensive assessment is warranted. Developmental Screenings are offered for infants as young as three months to children as old as 5 years.</image:caption>

<image:title>About BTB - Our approach and style</image:title>
<image:caption>BTB is a highly specialized psychology practice committed to maximizing the developmental, social, emotional, behavioral, and academic potential of children, adolescents, and families. Whether it is sharing tips and tricks to tame those tantrums or developing an action plan for your adolescent’s school success, BTB was created to provide and guide parents through an action plan that is tailored to their child’s needs. At BTB our philosophy is to meet you where you are, even literally! In addition to traditional office sessions, we offer school-based & in-home telehealth services. Wherever we meet, let’s find the answers. Rather than do things the typical way, BTB is systematically designed around your family’s needs. We not only believe that many things can impact a child’s functioning, we specialize in sifting through it all to make a blueprint that actually makes sense for you. BTB is grounded in the belief that yes, you can utilize evidence-based practices (the “what works”) while still normalizing what makes your family unique (the “will this work for me”). Oh, we also practice knowing we’re all human and parenting is the hardest yet most rewarding job in the world. Therefore, you are not only an active and necessary contributor to our work together, you will always have access to our range of family supports as part of the BTB family.</image:caption>

<image:caption>During the initial intake appointment, a collaborative plan of action is created based upon your child/family’s needs. It’s time to put that plan into action! Our psychoeducational or diagnostic assessments are tailored to meet the individual needs of the client. This means, no one assessment is the same. BTB specializes in comprehensive, in-person assessments that help provide a blueprint of your child’s strengths, areas of concerns, and recommendations to aid in educational or treatment planning. No assessment needed? Our Behavioral Parent Training sessions help you learn specific tools, strategies, and intentional parenting practices to navigate your child’s challenging behavior. BTB also offers Child and Family Therapy options to support adjustment to life changes, interpersonal or behavioral challenges, or to aid in improved medical adherence or healthy habits.</image:caption>

<image:caption>As a parent or caregiver, your natural goal is to prepare your child for success in their future endeavors. While supportive school settings naturally aid in this developmental process, no learner, nor their goals are the same. While comprehensive testing helps to identify and create an individualized blueprint of your child’s learning, socio-emotional, and executive functioning strengths, knowing how to utilize this information as you navigate your child’s school or college planning process can be confusing. School placement, scheduling/class planning, IEP/504 Plan accommodations, ACT/SAT accommodation eligibility , and school supports are not always known nor available to parents/students. We can connect you with an Educational Specialist with whom has over 20 years of experience working with students to provide a 1:1 individualized academic or executive functioning plan. <image:title>Executive Functioning & ADHD Training - Executive Functioning Coaching & ADHD</image:title>
<image:caption>Is your child, teen, or college student struggling to keep up with day-to-day demands or deadlines? Forgetting to complete even regular routines? Needing to build executive planning, prioritizing, and follow-through skills? Tired of providing constant reminders with little follow through? Executive Functioning skills are essential to your child’s success in school, home, and community settings. They capture your child’s ability to sustain attention, demonstrate cognitive, behavioral, and emotional regulation, as well as remain organized. While these skills continue to develop well into early adulthood, children and adolescents learn to develop aspects of executive functioning that help them monitor and utilize planning skills to demonstrate learning. Many executive functioning training services occur online with a “one size fits all” approach. In a world where technology is a wonderful asset and a stressor for children and teens with executive functioning weaknesses and ADHD-let us help them build the skills. Executive functions are the set of behaviors and skills that are responsible for guiding, directing, and managing cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning. Consider executive functioning the “control center” of the brain. BTB offers individualized Executive Functioning training/coaching services that are tailored based upon your child, teen, or college student’s individual brain strengths/weaknesses. These 1:1 training appointments begin with our comprehension testing services and/or with an educational specialist to help your teen with goal planning, establishing daily/weekly/monthly plans, utilizing tangible technology and planning tools, as well as developing necessary skills to follow through with routine tasks.</image:caption>
